This striking handmade Victorian yellow gold and silver diamond tiara is of scrolling floral design set to its centrepiece with four larger old cut diamonds, the largest an impressive 1.80 cts approximately, mounted atop the top prong of the jewel, the trio of additional larger diamonds are claw set beneath, surrounded either side with further rose cut and further old cut diamonds carefully grain set in silver, to accentuate the bright white and brilliance of the diamonds.
Silver being a typical material to set diamonds into during the high Victorian design period.
Estimated total diamond weight 8.90cts with the three largest diamonds weighing 1.80cts, 1.60cts, 1.15cts and 0.90cts approximately, assessed as I-J colour VS2 clarity, I-J colour S13 clarity, and I-J colour VS2-SI2 respectively. The remaining stones with an assessed colour of I-J colour VS2-SI2.
The handmade frame that the tiara sits on is made of German Silver and hand-stitched brown velvet.
This tiara can also be worn as a necklace by unclipping it from its frame. Measuring 13cm across 5.5cm in height, 5mm in depth.
Condition - Overall the condition of the tiara is very good, with slight abrasions to the surface of silver and yellow gold in keeping with its general age.
